How it works
Skin Botox works not in the muscle but in the shallow layer of the skin. When diluted botulinum toxin is divided into the shallow layer of the skin, the signals to the sebaceous glands and tiny muscle fibres within the skin decrease, which can reduce sebum production and how visible pores are. A 2024 analysis pooling studies of intradermal injection also reported improvements in sebum, pores and fine lines, but concluded that the studies were small and more research is needed.
