Body Botox 100uGangnam, Seoul
Body Botox 100u is a treatment in which 100 units of botulinum toxin are injected into large body muscles such as the trapezius or calves. These muscles are bigger and thicker than those of the face, so the amount used at one time is also larger. QD Clinic first asks how much you use that muscle for exercise, work and walking — because reduced strength can be inconvenient. At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea, consultation helps determine which options suit your concerns.
Treatable areas
- Trapezius
- Calves
- Arms
- Thighs

Who it’s for
- The trapezius running from your shoulders to your neck stands out, making your shoulder line look bulky
- Your calf muscles rise firmly when you stand on tiptoe
- Your arm or thigh lines look thick because of muscle rather than fat
Body Botox doesn’t reduce fat. If both muscle and fat are causes, they are planned separately with another treatment.
How it works
The principle is the same for large muscles — used less, they get thinner. What differs is the amount and your lifestyle. When botulinum toxin reduces the contraction signal to a muscle, its thickness decreases over several weeks in proportion to how little it is used, and the line can look smoother. Body muscles are larger than facial ones, so even with the same principle a larger amount is used, and they are directly tied to everyday movements such as walking and lifting. That is why with Body Botox we consider not only “how much to reduce” but also “how much this muscle needs to be used”.
THE MECHANISM, STEP BY STEP
01Trapezius
This is the muscle you shrug with, so injecting the raised part can make the line from shoulders to neck look lower. Injections are placed away from the front of the neck.
02Calves
Injections go into the calf muscle that rises when you stand on tiptoe. It is used for walking and climbing stairs, so we look at your lifestyle when setting the amount.
03Arms and thighs
We inject only when we have confirmed that muscle is the cause of the thickness. In these areas, fat often plays a large part, so the examination is even more important.
04Distributing 100u
How much of the 100u goes into which muscle is decided by muscle size and left–right differences. We start within a range that doesn’t make daily life inconvenient.
Treatment areas
- Discuss at consultation
- If the line looks thick because of fat, a muscle injection makes little difference, so we feel whether it hardens when you tense it.
- Medical assessment
- If your lifestyle uses that muscle a lot, such as hiking, running or carrying heavy loads, we set the timing with the period of reduced strength in mind.
- Before treatment
- How much of the 100u goes into which muscle, and how it is divided between left and right, is decided by looking at muscle size.
What the procedure is like
- 1Muscle examination and choosing the area
- 2Positioning and marking the muscle area
- 3Injections divided within the muscle
- 4Pressure, then aftercare guidance before you leave
The time differs depending on the area and coverage, and will be explained when you visit.
Recovery & aftercare
- You can go about your day as usual on the same day.
- On the day, avoid strenuous exercise that uses the injected muscle, and massage.
- If you lose so much strength that daily life is inconvenient, let us know.
What to expect over time
A general guide to how the days and months after treatment usually unfold. Results vary by individual.
Same day Daily life as usual
The injection points may feel stiff or a small bruise may appear.
First few weeks Less force
You may feel less force when using that muscle. For the calves, this is easy to notice on uphill slopes or stairs.
1–2 months Line softens
As muscle thickness reduces, the change in the line begins to show. (Results vary from person to person.)
Several months later Return
As the muscle is used again, its thickness returns. Whether to have it again is decided then.
Sessions & results
With large muscles, the change comes slowly, and how long it lasts also differs by person and area. After the first treatment, we look at both the inconvenience of reduced strength and the change in the line before deciding the next step. (Results vary from person to person.)
How it compares
A comparison by cause when the body’s lines look thick.
| Comparison | Body Botox 100u | QD S-Cut Injection | Body ONDA Lifting |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it addresses | Thickness of large muscles | Fat | Fat layer and skin firmness |
| How it feels to the touch | Rises firmly when tensed | Soft flesh you can pinch | Pinchable flesh and loose skin |
| When change shows | Over several weeks | Over repeated sessions | Over repeated sessions |
If both muscle and fat are causes, the two treatments are planned separately.
Safety & considerations
Possible reactions
- Stiffness or bruising at the injection points
- A feeling of reduced strength in that muscle (uphill slopes for the calves, lifting heavy things for the trapezius)
- Rarely, fatigue
- Left–right differences
Please tell us first if
- You are an athlete or your work uses that muscle a lot
- You recently had Botox in another area
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a condition affecting the junction between nerves and muscles
- You have a condition related to swallowing or breathing
Body Botox uses a large amount at one time, so we keep particularly in mind the approved labelling’s warning that, rarely, the product can spread beyond the injection site and cause symptoms such as weakness or difficulty swallowing. If you have such symptoms, contact us right away.
Your care at QD Clinic
Checking the muscle
We ask you to tense the muscle and see whether muscle or fat creates the line.
Asking about your lifestyle
We hear how much you use that muscle in exercise and work, and set the timing and amount.
Comparing weeks later
Several weeks later, we look at the change in the line with photos taken in the same posture.
Frequently asked questions
Some people say their shoulders feel less tight once the trapezius is used less, but the aim of this treatment is the shoulder line, not treating stiffness. If shoulder or neck pain lasts or your arm feels numb, we recommend first seeing a doctor who treats the cause. For the trapezius, the injection goes into the raised part, away from the front of the neck, and afterwards you may feel less force when lifting heavy things.
Walking on flat ground mostly stays the same, but you may feel less force on uphill slopes or stairs. If you have hiking or running plans, please tell us in advance. This feeling is most noticeable in the first few weeks as muscle strength decreases; if strength drops so much that daily life becomes difficult, please let us know.
It depends on muscle size. During the examination we look at muscle size and tell you how much can be covered with 100u. The calf muscle is used for walking and climbing stairs, so we start within a range that doesn’t disrupt daily life and, if the two sides differ, divide the amount accordingly.
Rest on the day of the injection; after that, you can do your usual exercise. However, if you keep doing exercise that focuses on building the injected muscle, the muscle may return sooner. If you are an athlete or your work uses that muscle heavily, we set the timing and amount together, taking into account the period when strength is reduced.
It is possible when muscle is the cause of the thickness. In the arms and thighs, fat can be the cause, so the examination sorts this out first, and if it is fat, we recommend a different treatment. If muscle and fat are both causes, we plan the two treatments separately, and we also explain in advance that Body Botox does not reduce fat.
